We then had a new MMO titled The Reckoning shown off on stage. As Ian put it in the live blog: The Reckoning is on stage, looks good. 38 Studios is new, but have heaps of talent! A hero is reborn, to hunt his killer, and change Amalur!

Insomniac then come on stage to announce their first ever multi-platform title, OverStrike… I expected more applause and I’m sure they did too.

While the name may be a little weak, the trailer shown off looks like it could be a ton of fun and essentially looks a bit like it has a sort of Borderlands/Team Fortress thing going for it, while they referred to it as Spy-Fi.

Check out the trailer, it sells it very well – but no gameplay was shown at all.

Then onto the main course, the one that everyone was waiting for: Battlefield 3.

EA decided to take the fight straight towards Activision and Modern Warfare 3, not only showing off a spectacular looking game that will now be releasing two weeks before Modern Warfare 3 on October 25, but by also announcing a similar system to Call of Duty: Elite – except that it’s absolutely free.

Ouch. Then we got to see a short and frantic multiplayer video, here it is:

After that, we finally got too see less of the infantry play and a more of the vehicle play, i this case a live demo of a major tank battle from the campaign. Be warned though, it does tend to drag on for quite a bit, so you will probably want to skip through it a bit.

And that was that from EA for E3 2011. They put on a great display of some really killer titles and impressed everyone with some great variation between genres and titles.
