E3 2012: Super Mario Bros U coming

1 min read

Of course there’s a new Mario game coming to the Wii U. Of course there is – and it’ll be a launch title.

Called New super Mario Bros u, it looks…well it looks just like a high-resolution version of New Super Mario Bros Wii – and that’s not a bad thing at all.

It’s got a few key differences, of course – including some new power ups, and a few very clever new coloured Yoshis. It’s playable for up to 5 players; 4 playing as usual, and a 5 using the GamePad to help or hinder players by placing blocks.

It’ll also tie directly in to the MiiVerse, allowing you to challenge your friends and compare level run times. I can;t say I’m disappointed in this at all – even if it is a little safe.

Editor. I'm old, grumpy and more than just a little cynical. One day, I found myself in possession of a NES, and a copy of Super Mario Bros 3. It was that game that made me realise that games were more than just toys to idly while away time - they were capable of being masterpieces. I'm here now, looking for more of those masterpieces.
