Finally some decent MGO videos

50 second read

All the previous gameplay video’s I have found for Metal Gear Online have been dodgy to say the least, now finally we have a good one..

And what a difference it makes, the graphics in this game look amazing and the detail of the environment is fantastic… the customised gamers are also pretty cool and is something that I hope lingers on in other games.

However the gameplay looks as bad as before and I still see no reason to go for this game, I have a biased against it already due to the dodgy Beta and the fervent fanboyism that follows it around. Something like Halo without the Master Chief to save it…

So take a look and explain to me how a stealth game has ended up with two people 2 meters away from each other unloading all their ammo and then both going in opposite directions….

I think this game will be more about the SP than MP

This particular one is only multi-player… MGS4 will be the single player version which looks much better than this

“This particular one is only multi-player… MGS4 will be the single player version which looks much better than this”

MGS4 ships with five multiplayer maps and a bunch of modes etc. That will be called the MGO starter pack, and it will be expanded with DLC. There will be no separate game called “MGO” – they’ve clarified 100% that this is MGS4’s multiplayer component and not a standalone product.

By the by, I’ve been playing the beta. I like it quite a lot, though there are some gameplay and balance issues to sort out. It effectively plays like a slowed down rainbow six.

I don’t think it’s going to take over from Warhawk or CoD4 by any stretch of the imagination, but I think it will give most players few hours extra enjoyment once single player is done.

They are just making this overly complicated. So MGO is not it’s own game but is a part of MGS.. however it’s only a starter pack in MGS 4?

Glad to hear you are playing it though, so from a first hand point of view is it a stealth game or a run and gun?

Eh it’s not that complicated at all. MGO and MGS4 comes is the same package. MGO is the MP extention of the game. Just like you have a COD4 SP component and MP component. And then, like any ohter MP game, there will be future DLC, new maps etc.

I think it’s more down to how they refer to it as a starter pack.. basically I see it as implying that the MP side is going to be a whole game to itself one day…

Well ok, but if you go read “about the game” on the internet, you’ll pretty much pick up on it straight away…

or not else I would have picked up on it..

I haven’t paid to much attention to it though, Nothing about it grabs me ina good way… It just doesn’t do it for me…

You may notice I pick things and run with them, sometimes good, sometimes bad… this is a bad one…

Took me two mins get get the info:

Metal Gear Online is the online component of Metal Gear Solid 4. The game will feature 16-player online stealth battles, encouraging players to engage heavily in teamwork.

MGO will be distributed with MGS4 in the form of a ‘Starter pack’, which will be expanded through downloadable content via the PlayStation Network, potentially for up to 10 years.[

@red, I am not sure where you are missing what I am saying but it is blatantly obvious that you are…

“MGO will be distributed with MGS4 in the form of a ‘Starter pack’”

If that doesn’t sound like a seperate game to you then I don’t know what will.. COD4 multiplayer is not distributed with COD4 SP… It’s COD4… a whole package..

    Thanks for reading 😉
