There was apparently a big Fable 2 announcement that Lionhead was going to unleash upon us last week but they were asked by Microsoft to hold out till this week. Well it’s “next week” now and Lionhead have broken the news, Gamasutra caught it first when they reported on a entry on the official Lionhead blog that stated Fable 2 will be getting DLC mid-December, some of it paid and some of it free.
The content that is gonna cost you is going to be a whole island called Knothole (great name) and is apparently covered in snow. As well as the island itself there will be a ton of new quests and items linked to it. Seems a bit soon if you ask me for such a big chunk of game, but we’ve been down this road before with games that release large packs of DLC soon after release. At least all the good stuff is only going to cost 800 points which doesn’t sound to bad for a good bit of game.
The free DLC on the other hand is far less spectacular and consists of “Knight’s Boots, Assassin’s Gloves, a special Weight Loss Potion, collectible silver book, and more.” which leads me to believe there’s more to come because those of you who have played Fable 2 will know you could find some of the Assassins outfit in the game but not all of it. And now with the gloves popping up in DLC I know I wasted at least 4 hours looking for the rest of it. Oh well, it is free, I guess I should be happy.
