Gabe Newell, The Billionaire

Gabe Newell has often divided public opinion thanks to his outspoken attitude and his huge size.

The attitude has brought him online hell after he once famously stated

“The PS3 is a total disaster”

which instantly led to an army of Internet fanboys making every living joke under the sun about Gabe’s massive frame, and let’s be fair here. Gabe is 6 foot 4 and has what can only be described as a less than athletic build.

But if he ever does get offended by what he reads online he can simply head home and cry into his mountain of $100 bills as Gabe is more than likely a billionaire right now.

This startling revelation was revealed by Forbes magazine about a month ago when they interviewed Gabe and also found out that Steam holds between 50% and 70% of the PC gaming digital market. A market that has just been valued at $4 Billion a year.

So on the lower scale Valve is responsible for $2 Billion a year from digital sales and only has 250 employee’s, making it a more profitable company per employee than either Google or Apple.

Not to mention that Valve is not a publically listed company so we don’t really know how much money it pulled in or what it’s using it for, but it’s a fair assumption to believe that it is bringing in hundreds of millions per year and with such low costs and seeing that Gabe owns over 50% of the company it’s safe to assume he’s already breached the billion mark… or is poised to do it any day now.
