Get the very last South African PC Format next week

It wasn’t too long ago that we brought you the rather disappointing news that publications took the decision to shut down the South African edition of long-running gamer mag, PC format. The decision was made because sales of the mag had dropped, and shutting it down could help Panorama refocus its efforts on its other great publications like Barbie magazine, Teen Zone  and of course Animal Talk, which asks pressing questions like “How do animals interpret life?”

Now’s your chance to be part of history, and pick up the very last edition of our local PC Format. We’ve been told it’ll hit shelves next week. Here’s what it’ll look like.

PCF-May-14

The thing has a sticker price of R45, which is less than even the cheapest worthwhile game on Steam. Hopefully, if enough of you pick up this final collector’s edition of a great magazine, the folks at Panorama responsible for canning the publication end up in the foetal position crying over this great thing they’ve lost.

Yeah the guys who canned this need to be hit right in the feels for what they did. Still angry that this is happening.

I will most definitely be buying 2 copies of this.

1 for myself to keep and another to mail to Panorama with a lovely note telling them how they killed one of the best magazines ever and I will circle each writer’s name in red to remind Panorama of the cool people who’s lives they have destroyed.

Yeah I’m a bit sour about all this. Sorry

The previous Editors before the residen Wookie are to be blamed for the demise of this awesome publication.

Gaming mags were great in the 486 era to drool over. I remember looking in awe at those upright PC cases with CD-ROMS. I’d fantasize about having my own PC with a bunch of CDs lying around…

Agree, still remember the demo’s of the earlier days – fond times, Anno, Jagged Alliance 2 and even Commandos… Sad times indeed….
