Ghost Recon 4 Announced – Wait, what happened to 3?

This may sound confusing to some, but Ubisoft have just announced that we can expect Ghost Recon 4 between 2009 and 2010. Surely it should be Ghost Recon 3, right?

The reason that this is confusing is because the last version any of us played on our consoles was in fact Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2. While it had a “2” on the end, it wasn’t the second game in the Ghost Recon series, but the third.

Either way, it’s coming, and will keep the basic title of Ghost Recon 4. Ubisoft had the following to say:

“In 2008-09, we… continued to invest heavily in Ubisoft’s future potential, hiring some 1,300 talents for our studios with a view to driving the Company’s expansion, further strengthening our franchises and preparing for the next generation of handheld as well as home consoles,”

Expect to see a lot more news and information about the title at E3 this June.
