The following video gives us a glimpse of a screenshot paint-over which becomes a piece of concept art for Skyrim. The piece of art is of a cave troll, which looks a heck of a lot meaner than they did in Oblivion. Ordinarily, concept art is developed before the game gets coded and the art assets created. What Bethesda does as well is use screenshots from the existing game code to create more “concept artâ€, but it’s kind of retro-engineered.
The screenshot paint-overs are then used to further creative juices amongst level designers, quest script writers and other members of the development team. They’re also there for people like you and me to salivate over in unadulterated anticipation for the game’s eventual release.
