Last week you told you of an insider who said that Doom 4 had been indefinitely postponed following the unexpectedly low critical acclaim of id’s long-in-development post-apocalyptic shooter Rage. According to said insider, the top brass at id Overlord Bethesda Softworks have developed “a serious lack of confidence in the project management at id,” resulting in the project being shelved.
id says otherwise.
“Complete bollocks,” says Bethesda’s Pete Hines.
“Re: Doom 4 rumour, games are done when they are done and no title under development at id has been postponed – indefinitely or otherwise.”

Doom 4’s not been postponed, or cancelled; it’ll just be out when it’s ready – which knowing id could be a long, long time from now. which should give you ample time to stockpile adult nappies and sleeping tablets.
