Ausgamers.com has posted a detailed preview of the upcoming PS3 exclusive Killzone 2 and to put it nicely… the game is nothing special.
They did mention that the AI was at least passable this time and the graphics were pretty. However apart from that it is not looking good for the ‘Halo-killer’
The gameplay is stereo-typical FPS and the controls are clunky.
The best compliment that was made about the game is that it looks good for what it is… however what it is is boring, grey and mundane.
Hopefully the online ability will save it but for now it looks like another expensive failure for Guerilla Games

I consider Killzone to be pretty generic FPS Fare. Then again, i think the same of Halo. 😛

This is exactly what I have been thinking about this game since we were shown the actual gameplay footage. Is anyone actually still excited about Killzone 2 though with all the great upcoming shooters on the horizon?

I actually have the opposite opinion.. Online multi-player is as boring as sin and the single player campaign was at least entertaining… 4 player co-op was by far the best thing going

My brother alos loved the single player… I think i did maybe 3 sections.. was planning on trying to do the rest the weekend…( wil have to see) I loved Prey much more

Come on dude. I’m no fan boy but you are taking the opinion on a demo level of a game 6 months before the game is set to release. Besides this is an Australian review, they probably had Sony tone down the colors because it would make kittens cry and reduce the violence for the Aus release – a-la Fallout 3.
The game could very well be another bland FPS but at least wait till the proper previews start arriving.

i enjoyed the 4 player co-op, the online Mp bored me to tears. I’ve found that lately any game where the objective is “kill everybody” and you respawn, I get bored.

The game hasn’t been released yet,how can anybody say whether its gonna be crap or not from a preview…until you play a game from beginning to end, you can’t judge it.
Im no fan of Killzone whatsoever…but give it a chance until you know for sure whether it sucks or not.

Personally I thought the final big red flag was when it got pushed to Q1/Q2 next year. Good games aren’t released in Q1/Q2, those are for the iffy ones that can’t stand up to the peak season competition.

Let’s wait till it’s released to draw conclusions. I personally think people will be disappointed because they are hyping the game up too much. Games like Battefield BC are great because they never got hyped, so we were never in for any disappointment even with all the bugs 😉

I own both consoles,I prefer the 360 and I hated Killzone. The Aus thing was a joke – develop a sense of humor. I am just tired of the ammount of negative publicity this site spits on everything PS3 related.
