Loco Roco 2 for only $20! Sony deserves some love

Sony has really impressed me with their pricing decision on Loco Roco 2. Now I don’t actually care if it’s only to try and prevent piracy or if it is an act of desperation because I still think that more companies need to start thinking like this.

As stated in the title, Loco Roco 2 for the PSP is going to be selling in the USA and possibly even Canada for the mere price of $20 (around R200) and if we are lucky it will still hit shelves locally at somewhere near that same region.

It’s about time that more companies start thinking this way. If you have a PC game (the most pirated platform by far) and you want to make good money but you are being hurt by piracy, sell the game for a crap load less. Selling 1.5 million copies of a game at R150 will be a lot better than selling 300 thousand copies at R350.

If you have a PSP and are interested in Loco Roco 2, at this price I’m urging you all to do the right thing and spend the low amount on the game instead of turning to piracy. If we support moves like this, we could see game prices dropping a lot more in future.

The first Loco Roco was quite a magical game and one that I enjoyed very much so I am sure that the second one will not disappoint but we will have to wait and see. We will try and get an idea of what local pricing will be when it is released in SA so stay tuned…

  1. I’ve loved the PSP’s quirkier games, like the first Loco Roco and Patapon. those of you who have the PS3 loco Roco, don’t let it dissuade you from picking this baby up – the PS3 iteration is barely more than a demo.
