I’m not a big fan of technical mumbo jumbo, so I am going to keep this short and as simple as possible.
A new Opus motherboard has been created by Microsoft that is basically the same as the newer ones (called Falcon) that have gone into the new consoles that also have HDMI and the 65-nm CPU. The only difference is that the Opus does not have the HDMI slot and will be used to replace the motherboards of early Xbox 360’s that come in for repairs.
What this basically means is that at some point, bazillions of dollars later, Xbox 360’s should technically stop dying. Then again, this is the Xbox 360 we are talking about.
It will find a way.
