Playstation Network Downtime Planned For Thursday

Sony has scheduled planned maintenance on Thursday which means that there will be some downtime that you should be aware of.

The post on the Playstation Community forum states that the Playstation Network will be down on Thursday November 3rd from 16:00 to 21:00 BST (British Summer Time). For South Africans that should mean that the PSN will be down from 18:00 to 23:00. They mention that it may be down a little longer than stated, for testing purposes.

So if you were planning on playing Battlefield 3 all night, you may want to look at renting a Blu-Ray movie instead. The text and details from the post after the jump.

There will be scheduled PSN maintenance taking place this? Thursday 3rd November from 16.00 until 21.00 GMT.

The following services will be affected between 16.00 and 18.00 GMT.

  • Signing into PSN
  • PlayStation Store
  • Account management
  • PS Sign In (via SonyEntertainmentNetwork)

PlayStation HOME will also be unavailable between 16.00 and 18.00 GMT

If you are signed in during this period, you may find you are signed out of your online session temporarily.

During the down time users attempting to sign in will be presented with the site maintenance notification page?.

Please note: there may be additional down time after the maintenance period for testing purposes.
