PSN is not coming back on the 31st of May

A ton of websites posted up a rumour yesterday that Sony had set themselves a target date of the 31st of May to get their services up and running. That’s still a solid 20 days away which would make this outage last for around 6 weeks if my rudimentary maths skills haven’t let me down.

However this date is wrong and has been officially denied by Sony though they haven’t come out with any confirmed date at all.

The latest update given by Sony yesterday is as follows

I know you all want to know exactly when the services will be restored. At this time, I can’t give you an exact date, as it will likely be at least a few more days. We’re terribly sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work through this process.

We had some fun calling Sony incompetent yesterday for this debacle and until they get the PSN back up and running and stable then those accusations are going to continue to increase from all sides.
