Numerous people online are reporting that the latest issue of the official PlayStation Magazine, OPM, has a rather extensive Ninja Gaiden 3 reveal – and some details might be surprising. According to NeoGAF user Rated-Rsuperstar the game won’t be toning down the difficulty for casual gamers, so it must be accessible through some other means. The game will feature competitive and co-operative multiplayer, including a mode that’ll allow for 8 players to play at the same time. Good news for those who love over-the-top, gratuitous blood is that the game will have buckets of the stuff. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 on the PS3 replaced the sticky red life liquid with puffs of lame purple “life essence.”

Apparently the store is gone, and weapons will now upgrade themselves over time. I’m not too sure that’s a great idea – but I’m willing to give it a shot. As we reported before, there will be a greater emphasis on the narrative. A surprising inclusion is that NG3 might include Move support, so you could be hacking your foes to bloody bits by actually hacking them to bits.

Details round up :

  • 60 frames per second
  • Blood is back
  • Difficulty level won’t be toned down for casual gamers
  • There will be both competitive and cooperative modes. One or both will support up to 8 players
  • The store is gone. Weapons will upgrade over time
  • Greater emphasis on story
  • May feature Move support
