Some big news hit the Internet this weekend when it was revealed that Spanish police swooped in and arrested 3 people for the recent hacking of Sony’s network.
Gamers around the world cheered that they had caught the people responsible for the demise of the PSN and all things were good in the world.
Unfortunately that doesn’t seem to be the case.
It’s true that Spanish police have arrested 3 people on suspicion of causing economic damage and that they have all now been bailed awaiting trial.
However these 3 guys are presumed to be part of Anonymous and are partly responsible for the denial of service attacks suffered by Mastercard, a couple of Spanish banks, and electricity company and Sony.
Remember back before Sony were truly hacked they were targeted by Anonymous in a DoS attack and the PSN became unstable for a short while… that’s who they have caught.
Now I’m not a fan of Anonymous so I’m glad to see them caught but I would rather the people who stole 100 million users personal details get caught and hopefully Sony and the world police are right on their tails.
