Unreal Engine 3 Dev Kit Updated, Looks Dreamy

2 min read

Epic has updated their massively popular Unreal Development Kit  and with it they’ve included some videos of what the beefed up UDK is capable of.There’s a host of updates, changes additions and improvements that’ll mean diddly squat to you unless you’re a developer, in which case you can read the list of changes and download the UDK beta  here.

If, like me, you’re more interested in the sort of vaseline-smeared dream-like  eye-candy the engine can produce, hit the jump for a video full of pretty things. Of course, this is more of a CG demo, so don’t expect the next UE3 game to look quite as sexy…but it does demonstrate the aging engine – the tech behind all sorts of things from Kinect Adventures to Gears of War to Mass Effect – is still capable of some pretty mind-blowing visuals.
