What’re you buyin’?

This week sees the release of a number of high profile video games. With money – and increasingly – time  becoming such a limited resource, it becomes difficult to decide which of the games jostling for the money in your wallet will end up winning.

It’s made even tougher when two of this week’s games are potential candidates for Game of The Year. 1940’s crime thriller L.A Noire will be released this Friday for PS3 and Xbox 360, while PC gamers get to soak up the majesty of The Witcher 2 from tomorrow. The choice is made easy if you only play on one platform, but if you’re a cash-strapped multi-platform gamer it becomes a nail-biting decision. Other notable games seeing release this week are LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean (3DS, DS, PC, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii), Brink, (PC, PS3, Xbox 360) and the quasi-episodic, half a game MX vs ATV: Alive (PC, PS3, Xbox 360). Perhaps you’re a petrol-head holding out for next week’s release of DiRT3?

The question then, is WHAT’RE YOU BUYIN’?

Editor. I'm old, grumpy and more than just a little cynical. One day, I found myself in possession of a NES, and a copy of Super Mario Bros 3. It was that game that made me realise that games were more than just toys to idly while away time - they were capable of being masterpieces. I'm here now, looking for more of those masterpieces.
