Even though it’ll be out on our side of the hemisphere in 2014, that doesn’t mean that the Xbox One isn’t coming this year. The US of A, UK and other nations of the world will be getting their hands on the console way before us. Details after the jump.

The next-generation of gaming  for Microsoft will kick off on November 22 in all 13 initial launch markets such as Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, UK, and USA. What do you think? It’s funny – it’s a week later than the PlayStation 4 gets released in the US, but a week before the PS4’s release in Europe. Unlike the last generation, neither console is really first to market.

Honestly though, I think that if Microsoft can get consoles to Australia for launch, they really should be able to launch here at the same time.

Even though it is not launching here, it’s quite scary to think that Next Gen is actually here……

I am just really curious to see how the 1 will handle different accents. In South Africa we have several different styles of English. But then again, if Microsoft can configure the 1 to work with Aussie lingo, we shouldn’t be a problem.

Actually an interesting point. I was thinking about it the other day when I noticed my S4 handled my accent very well. But I am a very white guy from Natal so I don’t have the thickest of accents.

      Will be very interesting

I’m kinda excited… I think. Not only about the XBO, but about the next gen in general. There haven’t been a “must have” title yet. BUT, there will be. And I’m super excited to see what is coming! The developers has more power to play with and I can’t wait to see what games we will play in 2 to 3 years time.

But I can see myself just hunting and scuba diving all week.

I feel you on Skyrim and it sounds like they have finally sorted out the shooting mechanics in GTA as well. Alas, the GAME OF FOREVER AND EVER EVER AWARD has already gone to System Shock 2 in my universe.

Consoles are not being delayed here due to localisation and accents, it’ because M$ are still fiddling with the hardware like they haven’t been working on the X1 for the past 4 years and the damn thing is only being manufactured now hence their were only PC workstations mimicking the X1 at E3 and GC.

To think, I imported my first Xbox 360 from the UK. I was so excited to be an xbot. I got my box about a month after it was launched.

Amazing how a couple of years, some RRODing, lack of local content (back in the day) can change not only your loyalties but how you see gaming in global terms.

Honestly i cannot believe how forgiving sa is with ms. The 3 red lights (not just sa i know). The fact that it took YEARS to get live. Hell, does anyone remember that we got dead rising 1 almost 7 months after its actual release? We still have a gimped service compared to most regions.

    Fool me once microsoft.
