You know Double Fine’s Tim Schafer from his work on games like Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle, Psychonauts and the more recent Brütal Legend. You may even remember that Brutal Legend was supposed to be published by Activision, but after the blizzard merger ended up being published by EA instead.
In a rather extensive interview with Eurogamer, the outspoken developer has called Activision-Blizzard’s CEO Bobby Kotick a “total prick†and a “dick.†Probably not the most flattering way to describe somebody..but at least they all rhyme, right?
“His obligation is to his shareholders,†Schafer said. “Well, he doesn’t have to be as much of a dick about it, does he? I think there is a way he can do it without being a total prick. It seems like it would be possible. It’s not something he’s interested in.â€
“He makes a big deal about not liking games, and I just don’t think that attitude is good for games in general. I just don’t think we’re an industry of widgets.â€
“We can approach it like we approach bars of soap, where you’re just trying to make the cheapest bar of soap. He definitely has that that kind of widget-maker attitude. I don’t think he’s great for the industry, overall. You can’t just latch onto something when it’s popular and then squeeze the life out of it and then move on to the next one. You have to at some point create something, build something.â€
“Hopefully he’ll go back to another industry scene. He could go to an industry that makes more money. Ball bearings… something that suits his passions more. Weapons manufacturing?â€
Something tells me we may not see any Tim Schafer games under the Activision label any time soon.

@riezo If we didn’t have something to work to, we’d sit around drinking beer all day.

Like Geoff said, without a schedule we would simply slack off and play drinking games instead of working

Nah, to the contrary I think it would speed up the posting of the articles by not having to wait to publish.
A schedule kinda removes the whole “Hot off the pressness”.
LoL, @ the beer drinking.

if something is really BREAKING NEWS, we’ll publish it, disregarding the schedule.
