I’ve been lost in Metal Gear Solid V, soaking up the sights, sounds and cavernous valleys of a digital Afghanistan (Nope, nowhere near Africa) – and it’s a genuinely polished, incredible game. I think the things that’s sucking me in most is how you’re free to tackle just about everything in whatever manner you see fit. Well, mostly.
There’s a game breaking save bug n the game, which you can easily avoid – just as long as you don’t play the game in whatever manner you see fit. It’s all got to do with Quiet, the scantily clad sniper you’re able to recruit as a buddy to help you take pot-shots at Russian soldiers in the Central Asian Desert. Many people taken issue with Quiet and her lack of clothing, but it seems the game itself has issues with her.
According to Konami, there’s a great big, save-breaking bug that can happen if you use her as your frontline buddy in missions 29 or 42. And that’s it. All you need to do to avoid having your save wiped (something that would honestly make me cry right now) is not use the big-breasted, scantily-clad, mute sniper on two missions; consider taking a furrier chum along instead.
[Important] Do not use Quiet while playing Mission 29 or 42, it may corrupt your save file! Please RT to spread the word!

Are you playing Metal Gear Solid V? What are your thoughts on the game itself, Quiet’s ensemble (or lack thereof) and the resultant brouhaha? I have to say, I’m not a fan of Quiet’s getup. I’ve been told it all gets explained, apparently, but it all seems culturally tone deaf…though perhaps that’s the point. I don;t take umbrage because she’s nearly naked – more that within the context of the game, it seems to make no sense; who’d wander the Afhgan desert dressed in nothing? I hope she has sunscreen with an SPF of 60.

Also, I have a feeling that Konami wanted to release each mission as episodic content. Like what Square want to do. But Kojima fought against it. It would not surprise me at all

A Hideo Kojima game…
I’m enjoying the crap out of this game, I have quite literally spent days in it already and I just cannot get enough, though I prefer the silent non lethal approach to everything, having discovered that each mission is replayable with even greater rewards makes it even better…That said, Mother Base can be a little intimidating at first, but once you get the hang of it…Oh man, does it pay off….

33hours in and just got to Angola at 16%.
I was not on the hype train at all for this game. I was far too happy with the Witcher. I believed nothing will ever surpase the Witcher on its technical standards. It is still the best RPG that I will ever play… maybe Fall Out? Will see.
But to my surprise MGSV gets my GOTY vote. Not only did it focus on beautiful vistas and emmerssive graphics, the Gameplay design is genius.
Also the main reason why LG gave Shadow of Mordor the GOTY 2014, even with shallow narrative, gameplay always prevails.
2015, wow, what a year.
60fps gameplay over 1080p graphics is becomming more relevant 🙂

I feel exactly the same way! I am absolutely loving the quick transition between sneaky-stealthy-you-didn’t-see-me-oh shit-I’m-pulling-out-a-grenade-launcher mechanics…. It is quite simply(yes even with the over exaggerated and weirdly named cast) one of the best games to date… The Witcher 3 was by far the best ball snatcher RPG…by far…. but MGS:V…holy crap man…

I spent 35 minutes going all NINJA then I made the mistake of smoking the E-Cigg not realizing that the patrols change during the day. I got spotted and was over run.
On my second attempt I thought fuck it, my devil horn is small enough I don’t mind it growing a little.
SECOND ATTEMPT. Nothing beats a well timed bombardment, heli support and a missile all at once against a hind helicopter with Ride of the Valkyries blasting in the background… all while D-Dog is barking, alarms going off and Im doing a five hit combo on a group of soldiers.

Agree, I also think that is why Bethesda are happy not focusing on the graphics for Far Cry but know they will have a better RPG if they give the player more gameplay. I have a feeling the SIM part of Fall Out is going to be more epic than they predicted.
