The Sims is a game of add-ons. You can never have enough hairstyles, outfits or furniture. Another thing I find I cannot get enough of is worlds. Almost all of the expansion packs for The Sims 3 to date have included their own town, known as worlds on The Sims 3 online store. If you’re like me and have the entire collection installed, you’ll have a rather large number of towns to play in (not to mention being terribly short on hard drive space!).

The Sims 3 online store also creates new worlds from time to time. Most of these are available exclusively through the online store, but there are a couple that have been made available in retail stores as well. Monte Vista is one such world. Like other Sims 3 worlds, it contains a number of premade residential and community lots. If you have a lot of expansions, you may have to do some rearranging to include special lots, such as performance stages from the Showtime expansion.

Each official world also has a specific theme, whether it is pirates or seaside paradise, or Italian village, as is the case with Monte Vista. Also included is a premium item, the wood fire oven, that lets your Sims bake a variety of unique and delicious looking meals.

Now, I’ve looked at most of the purchasable worlds, and even bought one or two, and they are always beautifully detailed with lovely houses and community lots, not to mention the families that are already living in the town. But Monte Vista deserves special mention for its breathtaking beauty and attention to detail. The idea of my Sims living in a Tuscan villa was just irresistible to me. Monte Vista even includes a few families from Veronaville that Sims 2 players may recognise.

If you’re looking for a way to spruce up your game, Monte Vista is an awesome addition to your collection of worlds. The included lots and the overall feel of the town are perfect for any Sim family looking for a new home.
