The reason for this is because 1), those two names alone got us intrigued, 2) why would we not embrace a movie where Colin Firth is a badass and 2) the …

Very positive early buzz for Matthew Vaughn's KINGSMAN; "jaw droppingly violent" and "utterly demented… in a good way"

I’ve been very intrigued by Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman: The Secret Service, but that’s just because I’m always intrigued by anything Vaughn does. If you’re into comics, then you know who Mark Millar is. He’s the Michael Bay of that industry, writing Hollywood blockbusters on a monthly basis for the printed medium that are pretty much massive spectacle comics. Naturally, a bunch of these comics have been made into films because they’re perfect fodder for such adaptations. Sometimes though, Millar hypes his work …

We review Kick-Ass 2 – Not as consistent as the first but still worthwhile for comic fans

In all honesty, Kick-Ass 2 isn’t a film that needed to be made. The first movie, based on Mark Millar and John Romita Jr’s comic miniseries, was pretty self-contained and capped off nicely. The darkly comic real-life superhero tale did make a decent chunk of money though, so I suppose a sequel was inevitable. Last Updated: September 11, 2013
