Despite the fact that he had the privilege of being involved in one of the greatest fight scenes in movie history, Colin Firth is not exactly the first person that springs to mind when you’re thinking about a superspy action caper based on a comic from the guy who created Kick-Ass. Firth seems too posh, too refined, but luckily for him – and us – posh and refined is exactly what his character is in Kingsman: The Secret Service, writer-director Matthew Vaughn’s (X-Men: First Class, Kick-Ass) adaptation of Mark Millar’s comic book, needs to be. He just also happens to kick much
ass arse with a high-tech assault umbrella.
Yes, I said high-tech assault umbrella. And you can add that next to backflip headshots and hot assassin ladies with hook-blades for feet on the list of really cool things you can see in this new trailer for the movie.
Based upon the acclaimed comic book and directed by Matthew Vaughn (“Kick-Ass,” “X-Men: First Class”), “Kingsman: The Secret Service” tells the story of a super-secret spy organization that recruits an unrefined but promising street kid into the agency’s ultra-competitive training program just as a global threat emerges from a twisted tech genius.
Kingsman: The Secret Service also stars Taron Egerton, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Caine, Mark Strong and Mark Hamill. It is scheduled for international release on February 13, 2015. There’s no local release date set as of yet.
