It seems to be a great day for leaked footage of upcoming titles. A video of some co-op footage of Resistance 2 has been uploaded onto Gametrailers by a user named Chnswdchldrn and shows some of the gameplay from the co-operative campaign. As you may or may not know, the co-operative campaign will not be the same as the single player campaign but is sure to give a whole lot of fun to those who enjoy fighting along side their buddies. I am really happy to see that so many companies have listened to gamers and are integrating co-op into their games. The game itself is looking fantastic and the huge multiplayer modes are sure to be a massive hit.

The official statement after the jump. Publisher Sony Computer Entertainment America has opened up an online application form for the beta test of Insomniac's PS3 shooter sequel Resistance 2. Beta access is granted to pre-order customers and subscribers to Qore, Sony's digitally-downloaded video magazine. But for those unwilling to spend money, aspiring players can apply for free access at the Resistance 2 site. Applicants will need their PlayStation Network IDs and must be over 18 years old. The beta test samples Resistance 2's multiplayer modes--including competitive modes for up to 60 players and 8-player co-operative play using multiplayer maps--and will start in early October. The complete game will be released on November 4 in North America.

Resistance 2’s marketing reminds me a lot of Halo, not the actual marketing but the way that the story is being marketed more than the game itself.
