Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia isn’t just an old game with a new coat of paint that brings everything from cinematics through to voice acting into a more modern age of gaming. It’s also a prime example of how the fundamentals of a classic game can still resonate today with newer audiences. Good game design stands the test of time, something that Shadows of Valentia has plenty of.

It's Twilight meets Harry Potter, with a hefty dose of The Vampire Diaries. How you feel about that descriptor is a pretty good indication of how you'll respond to supernatural romance Fallen.

Expectations for Volume 2 in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise are naturally higher than Groot’s special buds. Expectations which appear to have been met and surpassed according to early press screenings. It’s always worth taking a pinch of salt along for the ride, but aside from one lone dissenting voice it looks like those critics who got an early screening of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 were bowled over into hyperspace

88 Heroes Review – Challenging platforming with the best worst heroes around

By Darryn Bonthuys

Eight is a great number. It rolls off the tongue nicely, it’s useful for jokes about why the number seven is a bastard to nine and it rhymes with hate. I love this number, which you can flop on its side and then gaze at how it how transforms into the infinite. It’s also a running theme throughout 88 Heroes, a game which loves the number as more than just a friend. When you’ve got a cephalopod-themed villain obsessed with all things octal, you know you’re in for a weird ride.
