What would have happened if Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 3 was ever made? That game would have turned Darth Vader into a fusion of Hannibal Lector and the Black Knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail, by the sound of things.
Days Gone may smack of your typical sandbox. Massive, open and probably filled to the nines with all manner of diversions, developer Sony Bend’s upcoming romp in the Freaker apocalypse needs something to set itself apart from the pack. Needing to be more than just a love letter to the horror genre that spawned it, the studio is banking on their particular sandbox being deadly, unforgiving and completely random.
What Days Gone does have going for it, are its Freakers. Disgusting remnants of humanity with a taste for flesh, Freakers are rabid dogs who need to be put down whenever they get a whiff of your scent. On their own, they're trouble. But in a group? They're a near-unstoppable homicidal herd.
Only the good die young, but evil is forever as a familiar foe returns to Star Wars Rebels this week.
