…using Sony’s PlayStation Now Service – which lets users close to their datacentres stream playable games to PC or other supported hardware. It’s now added a selection of PlayStation 4 titles that people can stream. PlayStation Now is a subscription-based service, and those who pay its monthly fee are granted all-you-can-eat access to a library of games from PlayStations present and past. And here’s the list of PlayStation Now Games available to us in South Africa:
Unfortunately, we are too far away from the streaming servers, which means that the inherent latency would make games unplayable. The service runs off the back of technology that Sony acquired with streaming startup Gaikai, and actually works quite damned well if you happen to have blisteringly fast internet and live close enough to the servers.
