The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Video Preview

I’ve written quite a few words about my time last week with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, detailing all the large and sometime subtle changes that the concluding sequel is making ahead of release next month. It was a lot to take in over my four hour play session, but it certainly left a extremely positive impression on me – one that couldn’t really be put into words at times.

So instead of words, here’s an easier, more condensed version of what got my hands on. Joined by SA Gamer’s David Kozlowski, we strolled around the Old Town Market in Warsaw and reminisced on the time we had with the game. Everything from the surprising story direction, to the bloody, visceral combat – and certainly not ignoring how I had my ass handed to me countless times by the game’s very first boss.

There’s a lot happening in The Witcher 3, and enough so that it feels like a notable step forward for the franchise. This is, of course, the final one for presumably a very long time, but my short slice of gameplay certainly made me feel like a fitting send off for Geralt and co. Whether the full game manages to maintain that sense of awe throughout its entire runtime is yet to be seen though.

But if anything, I’m far more excited for May 19th than I was before last week. And that’s something I didn’t think was possible.
