Just a few months ago, I would have told you that online petitions – especially ones aimed at gaming companies – were like pissing against the wind; an entirely futile endeavour. However, they have seemed to work, with Dark Souls hitting the PC after a petition drive, and Nintendo localising a bunch of Japanese games after the successful Operation Rainfall campaign. The petition to bring GTA V to PC that we told you about last year might actually work.
For one thing, it has amassed over 200 000 signatures to date – quite an increase over the 40, 000 it had back then; though it still needs another 90 000–odd scribbles before it get sent to Rockstar.
“Please release GTA V on PC. GTA games have been a large part of so many people’s lives and it’s a big shame not seeing the newest iteration of the game being released on the most powerful platform,” says the petition. “Things like modifications have always been a HUGE part of PC gaming and modded GTA is some of the most insanely fun times you can have.”
I’d like to believe that GTA V is indeed headed to gaming PCs the world over – just probably a little after it has some time to shine on the current crop of consoles.
Recent job listings at Rockstar and leaked pre-order retail listings certainly hint at it being at least a possibility. There’s no way that Rockstar would make one of their largest, most incredible games and then not bring it to PC, right?

I really do hope that you PC guys get it. As a console player, PS3, we have been fortunate to have this series since the first one. It is an awesome game. GTA IV sold over 27 million copies on consoles. So for once, us inferior console boys are on your side. The main problem is that Rockstar don’t really need pc players, they make enough moola from us console boys.

2. I am platform agnostic, I am lucky (dumb?) enough to have several choices at my disposal when choosing which platform I will be playing on, PC being my favourite due to load times, multitasking, graphics & resolutions, KB/Mouse combo, etc
3. GTA 1 and 2 were originally not released on consoles but on PC… a PS1 port was eventually released though. Every iteration of GTA has landed on PC so far with the exception of the PSP “Stories” titles and Cinatown Wars, GTA:SA and GTAIV were delayed releases so it stands to reason that GTAV will be released for PC as well.
4. There is no such thing as “enough moola” for any business on our planet.

PS: I’ve got so amped for GTA V that I installed GTA IV some time ago, and finished it the other day. Also enjoyed some multiplayer last night. Fans can’t wait for the game, and to get a little fix they’re playing the previous title. More and more players coming to MP on GTA IV just shows the PC fans coming back to enjoy GTA fun, hopefully Rockstar notices the traffic and support on the PC side.

Well it’s on 310,000 now. By the way, it didn’t need 300,000 before it would be sent off, the signatory target moves. It was 25,000 initially and it moved up a bit each time.
