LA Noire is finally out everywhere today and a lot of people are very excited to get home and start playing. It’s already become a hot topic here on Lazygamer as well as Twitter and more that the game had to be spanned onto 3 discs for the Xbox 360 version.
The Playstation 3 version has a mandatory install to make up for the slow Blu-ray read speeds though, which means that you have to sit and watch it install instead of just popping it in and playing it straight away, which does a great job of killing what consoles are supposed to be in the first place. On the Xbox 360 version, you have the game spanning 3 discs, so you have to get up and change out the disc twice during the games’ 15-20 hour campaign thanks to the massive facial animation data.
In a perfect world, we would all just pop in a single disc and start playing straight our brand new game. No stupid installs, no disc swaps… but the question is, which one is the lesser of two evils?
