Robert Rodriguez has been planning a Sin City for several years, dropping cryptic hints towards the promised sequel, and it’s content, but until now, we haven’t exactly had a concrete confirmation of his intentions.
It looks like that has all changed however, as Dimension Films recently sent out a press release, announcing Frank Miller’s Sin City: A Dame To Kill For.
Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller are both returning to the directors chairs for the sequel, for a film that the duo claims will “shake things up and deliver a ferocious film experience that is going to go even further than the first.”
Rodriguez has also said that quite a number of actors from the original film will return, and that shooting is scheduled to begin later this year, and most likely a shoot that includes some 3D technology, which Rodriguez happens to be quite fond of lately, so brace yourselves.

A dame to kill for is one of the better Sin City tales, as it tells the story of Dwight, who appeared in the segment The Big Fat Kill from the 2005 film. It’s all about lies, betrayal facial mutilations, or in other words, it’s right up Rodriguez’ alley.
I’m quite happy that Sin City 2 is finally officially on track. If its good enough, I might even forgive Rodriguez for all those Spy Kids films.
