Alice : Madness Returns gameplay trailer

Madness

The very first review for the game hasn’t been too kind, citing mostly the same concerns I have for the overdue sequel to American McGee’s Alice; the game’s setting, lore, and art direction are its highlights, and the gameplay isn’t enough to keep it from being humdrum. that’s just one review though, and we’ve got a new trailer focused on the gameplay, and it might be enough to convince you that reviewers are awfully picky, because it looks great. Of course, this is just a minute or so of footage, and I could see hours of this becoming quite tedious. Still, pretty to look at.

Despite its shortcomings, I was taken in by the first game; lost in the dark and twisted take on a beloved classic – so I’m still all in for the sequel. What about you?

Geoffrey Tim

Editor. I’m old, grumpy and more than just a little cynical. One day, I found myself in possession of a NES, and a copy of Super Mario Bros 3. It was that game that made me realise that games were more than just toys to idly while away time – they were capable of being masterpieces. I’m here now, looking for more of those masterpieces.
