If you’re reading this, then chances are that the Doctor was successful in averting the Mayan apocalypse last night. Thanks Doctor, fishfingers and custard all around to celebrate!
Unfortunately over in This Is The End, the new apocalyptic comedy from writing-directing duo Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, things are still looking pretty armageddon-y.
But Rogen and his friends are not going to let something like “the end of the world” stand in the way of a couple of jokes. Or their masturbation.
The comedy “This is the End” follows six friends trapped in a house after a series of strange and catastrophic events devastate Los Angeles. As the world unravels outside, dwindling supplies and cabin fever threaten to tear apart the friendships inside. Once they discover that they are experiencing the Apocalypse, they must come to terms with why they were left behind. Eventually they are forced to leave the house, facing their fate and the true meaning of friendship and redemption.
Firstly, eeeeeeeeeewwwwww. Secondly, I love how all these actors and frequent collaborators are actually just playing themselves, and how they take the (pardon the pun) piss out of each other about it.
Rogen and Franco’s previous pairing, Pineapple Express, was pretty funny stuff (with one of the best “bad” fight scenes of recent memory) and Jonah Hill appears to be fat again in this one, and we all know fat Jonah Hill is a whole lot more funnier than thin Jonah Hill (seriously). Throw in the reliably funny Danny McBride, Craig Robinson and Jay Baruchel and this could just be one hilarious apocalyptic piss-take. Pardon the pun.

Damn, I love everyone in this cast and I loved Pineapple Express. It looks like Jodie Foster might be in it too…
