So putting the Folding@Home application onto the PS3 has been a stroke of genius by these scientist guys. In the few weeks that this application has been available the collective PS3 power has pumped out 400 teraflops of data which is virtually double the entire pre-PS3 folding data.
The media coverage of the PS3 folding has also led to an increase of 20% of PC’s attempting to do some folding.
This is all just good for everyone concerned, I am still however wondering why Xbox owners cannot be part of this as well. That would add a new level of interaction into the console wars. I don’t think anything can stand up to the cell chip in processing though.
Anyway what I always wondered is how do you know if you found the cure or not? Do you get extra Kudos for being the founder of this new cure?
