While I may consider music from the Beach Boys to be on the same level as dragging long nails on a chalk board during an emergency meeting of shark attacks, there’s no denying that the rest of the world happens to like that particular brand of music.
Fox pixtures won the rights to produce a Beach Boys flick after some serious bidding back in 2010, and have been looking to put that expensive property on the silver screen since then.
And they may just do so, now that director Michael Sucsy has signed up to helm the project.
With a script written by Erin Brockovich scribe Susannah Grant, Sucsy and Fox will be looking at making a film that tells the tale of how the california band came together.
Supposedly set in the 1960s, the film will have an obvious musical side to it, in line with other movies such as Chicago and Hairspray, thanks to the influence of producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron.
A Beach Boys musical? I don’t think that my bah-bah-bahrain can handle that. Oh dear, it’s too late…
