New Amazing Spider-Man featurette introduces us Dr Curt Connors

If you’ll recall, a new Amazing Spider-Man viral website for Oscorp industries launched last week, and although at first glance it may have looked to be useless except for just staring at the Oscorp logo, those sneaky hobbitses actually had the word “mutagen” hidden on the page.

Adding that to the site’s URL brought you to a new page, where we got this new (creaure) featurette on not-so-bad baddie, Dr Curt Connors aka The Lizard.

I love that they’re making a point of highlighting Peter’s scientific abilities (science geeks unite!), something that was nearly completely forgotten in the Sam Raimi/Toby Maguire films.

And while I’m still not truly convinced about Webb’s introduction of the mystery of Peter’s parents for this reboot, I cannot deny that the film is looking incredible. That scene of The Lizard getting out of the water at the end was spine chilling, and has got me to completely forgive them for the lack of gator jaws.

Synopsis:

The Amazing Spider-Man” is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents’ disappearance – leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr. Curt Connors (Ifans), his father’s former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors’ alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.
