Home is where the sniper is, in this first trailer for TOWER BLOCK

Move aside vampires, there’s a new bandwagon in town! Specifically, the type of bandwagon that is made out of multiple stories of concrete and vertical support beams that is.

With The Raid setting a new precedent for vertical-ascending films, we’ve seen no shortage of movies influenced by that high rise premise, with the upcoming Dredd taking a few cues from it, alongside Attack the Block as well. And the latest skyscraper flick is upping the ante, as people will be moving up, down and sideways in order to avoid one pissed-off sniper.

The last remaining tenants of a deteriorating, soon-to-be-demolished tower block must band together to survive when a killer with a high-powered sniper rifle starts picking them off through the windows of their flats.

It’s actually a unique take on the flatout carnage on flats genre, and it looks damn exciting, as the cast have to either face eviction from their building, or a hollow-point bullet to the cranium. Sheridan “Mrs Biggs” Smith and Jack “Skins” O’Connell star in it, with James Nunn and Ronnie Thompson calling the directing shots.

It’s getting a limited release in the UK, but keep an eye out for this one to arrive on DVD.

I wonder whatever happened to adapting JG Ballard’s High Rise?
