Zombieland-Trailer

There’s a new movement coming down real fast in the world of new TV shows. Broadcasters are becoming irrelevant, thanks to services such as Hulu and Netflix providing the content that people want, when they want it, and now Amazon is getting some of that pie for themselves as well.

Amazon is looking to bring back the cult hit movie Zombieland, albeit as a TV series. But of course, in order to get some backing and gauge the response to that, they’re going to need a pilot to help sell the show. A pilot, which you can see the trailer for after the break.

I dig it. At the moment, The Walking Dead is the first comparison here, but it’s obvious that Zombieland is going in a lighter, bloodier direction. Instead of a weekly whinge-fest that the original comics put to shame. Writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese seem to be keeping that flippant Bill Murray-murdering nature from the original film intact.

If you like what you see, then watch when it arrives on Amazon as that will determine the future of the series. Zombieland stars Kirk Ward as Tallahassee, Tyler Ross as Columbus, Maiara Walsh as Wichita, Izabela Vidovic as Little Rock and the rules of survival.

  1. I really WANT to like it, but the trailer just screams “This is going to be lame”. I’ll remain cautiously optimistic, after all, how can you not like zombies… but where the movie felt organic and fresh, the trailer has an unmistakable aroma of “contrived”.

this looks great, but my only worry is that, by using the same characters as the film, but with different actors, unfair comparisons will be made between the two groups. Tv series in general can’t compete with films when it comes to the budgets, so the productions tend to look a little ‘lame’ in comparison… right now it just looks like they’re trying to cash in on the films success (which is true im sure) hopefully they prove me wrong, it could be awesome!

    I loved the movie
sceptical about the series, the trailer alone has screwed with the roles, tallahassee was a badass, not some comedic relief air punching cardio freak =/
    will probably watch it though

No. NO! NO! NO! Zombieland without Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenburg, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin is just not Zombieland. Why not just make Zombieland 2.

Or make a show, but with different characters, different motives and stuff. This… NO!

I’m keen for it. Yes, its called Zombieland, and there are obvious similarities between the film and the series. But Zobieland was originally supposed to be a series, and making it in a film, I’m sure they took it in a different direction. I’m very keen to see what direction they take this in. I’m more excited for this than for what The Walking Dead TV Series is doing.

Hey, let’s not forget that Buffy the Vampire Slayer changed actors and remember how that worked out… 😀

Seems like it could be good for a laugh or two. I’ll give it a go.
