THE FLINTSTONES and WWE are tag-teaming up for a new movie

I love cartoons, but even I have my limits. One such cartoon that I cannot stand? The Flintstones. Lazy, uninspired and obsessed in a crazy way with anything related to granite and puns, the show has never registered high on my radar. Also, f$#! the Great Gazoo.

Shark-jumping aside, The Flintstones still makes money through syndication and the random direct to DVD movie. And boy oh boy, it doesn’t get more direct than the next animated feature, which will feature a few familiar WRASSLIN’ faces. Except with obscure rock-based names.

If you’re a fan of the WWE, then prepare yourself for a Flintstones movie which features cameos from the likes of Vince Magma, John Cenastone and CM Punkrock, as Fred and Barney will most likely find themselves in some sort of prehistoric Wrestlemania event. Or WrestleMarble/Mason. I don’t know, I’m being as lazy as the writers of this film.

Wait a minute, Why isn’t Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in this film? Meh, probably had to make way for Brodus Clay (I’m not even trying) and Rock Lesnar. Oh god, I think I’m going to be sick. Warner Bros will handle the animation for this flick, while WWE will promote the hell out of it before it’s released.

“WWE is family-friendly entertainment, so partnering with Warner Bros on a Flintstones/WWE project was a natural extension of our Scooby Doo deal,” said Michael Luisi, President, WWE Studios in a press release picked up by Deadline. “This new, animated feature allows us to showcase our brand with young fans and loyal Flintstones enthusiasts alike.” Reports of Luisi sqwuaking “It’s a living” while his face was used to play Blu-Ray discs are unconfirmed at this point.
