True story: I genuinely wanted to go see This is the end, but thanks to the fact that I live with a crippling case of “I happen to reside in the PE’s”, that never happened. The film is hitting Blu Ray and its lesser inbtred cousin DVD soon. Here’s what you can find on those special edition discs.

This is the End follows six friends trapped in a house after a series of strange and catastrophic events devastate Los Angeles. As the world unravels outside, dwindling supplies and cabin fever threaten to tear apart the friendships inside. Eventually, they are forced to leave the house, facing their fate and the true meaning of friendship and redemption.

Blu-ray Combo Pack & DVD extras will include:

  • Commentary with directors Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg
  • Directing Your Friends featurette – Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg discuss what it’s like to make a film with their friends & hear from the cast about their experiences.
  • This Is The Marketing:
  • Marketing Outtakes.
  • Cast Featurette.
  • Redband Sizzle Trailer.
  • Four Additional Confessionals: [list]
  • Aziz Haunts Craig Confessional
  • James & Danny Confessional
  • Jonah Confessional
  • Seth & Jay Confessional

Blu-ray Combo Pack exclusive extras will include:

  • Deleted Scenes
  • This is the Gag Reel
  • Line-O-Ramas Blooper Reel: Back-to-back shots of the actors’ different delivery of certain lines from the film, including:
  • Sleepover
  • Cum Battle
  • We Don’t Know You Man!
  • Six featurettes:
  • Meta-Apocalypse – The cast discusses the unique acting challenges of playing versions of themselves.
  • Let’s Get Technical – A look at the visual effects & technical aspects of the film.
  • Party Time – A behind-the-scenes look at the making of the party scene at James Franco’s house, including the celebrity friends who showed up.
  • The Cannibal King – Channing Tatum & Danny McBride take us on set to show us how it really was filming their scenes together.
  • The Making of ‘The Making of Pineapple Express 2′ – A behind-the-scenes look at the cast making the sequel to Pineapple Express.
  • Jay & Seth vs. The Apocalypse – The Original Short – The original short that inspired the film.

I may not have seen the flick, but according to the general consensus, it’s the spiritual brother to Pineapple Express that I’ve been waiting for. The Blu Ray and DVD will be out on October 1, and starred Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, Aziz Ansari, Emma Watson, Jason Segel, David Krumholtz, Michael Cera and Rihanna.

SterKinekor told me it’s gonna be released somewhere between September and October, don’t really remember the exact date. Can’t wait!

The last official theatrical release schedule that we received straight from the distributors on Aug 5, doesn’t even have it listed anywhere (that’s all the way up to Jan 2014) so I wouldn’t get your hopes up.
