Behold the least parented generation in this trailer for A.C.O.D

I’m grateful that I’ve got a set of parents who are still together. That’s something that a ton of kids will never know about, thanks to marriage being a revolving door towards divorce these days. And that leaves a lot of kids stuck between two competing sets of parents.

You know what it also does? Make a great premise for a film.

Carter is a seemingly well-adjusted Adult Child of Divorce. Having survived the madness of his parents’ divorce, Carter now has a successful career and supportive girlfriend. But when his younger brother gets engaged, Carter is forced to reunite his bitterly divorced parents and their new spouses for the wedding, causing the chaos of his childhood to return including his wacky therapist.

Don’t let the words “wacky” and “madness” fool you, because ACOD doesn’t look like your typical dysfunctional family before a wedding flick. It looks like it has some genuine heart to it, as well as some great acting that strikes a decent balance between comedy and drama, ACOD stars Adam Scott, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Catherine O’Hara, Jane Lynch, Richard Jenkins, Clark Duke and Amy Poehler, with Stu Zicherman directing.
