If there was ever anybody to give James Franco a run for his money for the title of Pretty Boy Who Does The Most Stuff, it would be Jared Leto. Not only a successful actor and producer, but also the insanely talented frontman to the popular rock group 30 Seconds to Mars, for whom he writes all the songs, designs all the album art and conceptualizes all their music videos.

This guy multitasks like a boss, as the kids say these days. Which actually makes him the perfect choice to play a man living through multiple timelines simultaneously.

A young boy stands on a station platform. The train is about to leave. Should he go with his mother or stay with his father? An infinity of possibilities rise from this decision. As long as he doesn’t choose, anything is possible. Every life deserves to be lived.

There’s a ton of Oscar buzz currently surrounding Leto’s performance as a transexual AIDS sufferer in Dallas Buyers Club opposite Matthew McConaughey, which is sort of a pity, as I have a feeling that that role may just overshadow this one a bit. And judging from the reports when Mr. Nobody did its film festival tour earlier in the year, as well as what can be seen in this trailer, this is not a performance to overlook at all.

Mr Nobody will be getting a limited release on November 1, 2013.

  1. This movie was made in 2009 and was available some time ago in certain regions. Can’t see how a 4 year old movie would have been considered for Oscars.

Er… Oops? The film is only getting a US release now though, That being said, I didn’t necessarily mean that he would be up for an Oscar for his performance in this film, but rather just that his other performance may result in this one being overlooked by some people.

Please let me know if you’re buying that flimsy explanation, because I’m trying pretty hard to not look like an idiot here. 😀

Did I just see Rhys Ifans yell “NEMO!”?

I honestly have zero recollection that you ever did that. I blame all the copious amounts of hayfever medication I was on earlier in the year.
