I give the Paranormal Activity films a lot of flak. But there’s a good reason for that. You see, they’re all mostly rather kak. It’s one thing to make a hit film with a budget lower than my tuck shop allowance, but nothing can gloss over lazy storytelling and taking the easy route out when telling a story.
The latest Paranormal Activity film however? It actually doesn’t look bad at all. Which I believe may be a sign that I may be possessed by demonic influences. By the power of Spielberg, I tell thee to piss off out of my body already!
I like the route that this film is going in. There’s nothing wrong with the current formula for PA films, but throwing in an actual storyline? Now that’s something that they should have done several sequels ago already. Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones stars Richard Cabral, Carlos Pratts, Eddie J. Fernandez, Jorge Diaz, David Fernandez Jr., Kimberly Ables Jindra, Tonja Kahlens and Frank Salinas star in the spin-off. Christopher Landon directs. It’ll be haunting cinemas in early January 2014.
