The prospect of Jason Statham beating the pineapple express right out of James Franco for about 127 hours was already something that put a smile on many a face. But then this epically violent, F-bomb laden, action packed Red Band trailer for Homefront, a new “action drama” coming from the veiny pen of Sylvester Stallone himself, comes out, and all of a sudden I’m thinking that beside for the joys of Franco-cide, this may actually be one kickass movie.
“Homefront” is an action movie about a widowed ex-DEA agent who retires to a small town for the sake of his 10-year-old daughter. The only problem is he picked the wrong town.
I feel that I need to embrace the hillbilly-ness of that trailer, and give it a WHOOO-WHEEE! because that actually seems pretty badass. And James Franco is called Gator? Yes, that makes perfect sense.
Now admittedly, we’ve probably seen a snippet of every action scene from the entire movie, but really if you’re here for reasons other than seeing Jason Statham unleash a Kentucky fried ass-whoopin’ on some redneck meth-heads, then you’ve been gravely misinformed about a few things. Did you see the part up top where I said that Sylvester Stallone wrote this?
Homefront will be breaking your legs with a baseball bat if you don’t come to see it when it releases internationally on November 27, 2013. Locally, we’ll need to wait a little longer to December 6, 2013.

I really enjoy Statham movies, even if his acting is not brilliant, I still enjoy ’em!

Me too. But lately the trailers of his films have been selling the Statham angle, yet the films turn out not to be quite that. Safe didn’t have a lot of action, nor did Parker or The Mechanic. I mean, they did have action, but not the level I expect from Statham films.
Maybe I should stop watching the Crank films on loop…
