The new trailer for NEIGHBOURS is taking it sleazy

Seth Rogan, after a few duds, has been a seeing a resurgence in popularity of late…to be more accurate, he’s really bloody popular at the moment. The second half of 2013 has seen him making a bit of a comeback, largely because of the his hilarious apocalyptic self-parodying film This Is The End, hosting the James Franco roast and a few ingenious TV cameos.

Admittedly, I was not a big fan of the Guilt Trip and The Green Hornet, but it seems like Hollywood has always had a soft spot for Mr. Rogan and with his rather large ensemble of Hollywood friends, I doubt he is going to disappear off our screens any time soon. This is something I am quite thankful for, though, as he seems to have hit his comedic stride and I have a suspicion that we are in for a real treat with his new film, Neighbours.

Comingsoon describes Neighbours as “a comedy about a young couple suffering from arrested development who are forced to live next to a fraternity house after the birth of their newborn baby” but the trailer lets us in on a little bit more as we see how Seth Rogan and Rose Byrne, the couple in question, start a rivalry with the raucous fraternity that moves in next door to them, led by none other than Zac Efron. Is it my imagination, or is Mr. Efron winning himself a bit of respect in Hollywood? 2013 is a bizarre year, indeed. He looks genuinely funny in Neighbours, though I admittedly enjoyed the Taxi Driver joke.

Whatever the case, the trailer definitely seems like something I’ll be excited to watch and while the antics of Seth Rogan and co. are not for everyone, he’s had me in stitches the last few months so for now, I’m going to give him the benefit of the doubt.  Decide for yourself! Let me just add, Rose Byrne is foxy lady. Here’s the trailer:

  1. This might be really good. Then again, I’ve seen too many comedies this year with great trailers and then really flat films.
