Check out five new clips for ROBOCOP plus a kickass IMAX poster

Due to the fact that I weigh the same as a duck and actually happen to be looking forward to the new Robocop film, I’ve been getting some flak. But the thing is, I genuinely believe that this film could be a decent reboot. I doubt it’ll ever top the original, but as long as we get something that is less of a waste than the Total Recall remake was, I’ll be happy.

The film drops next month, and the new marketing material has a prime directive to fulfill. Dead or alive, you’re going to watch it. Because at least one of these clips features Murphy battling the new and improved ED-209. Quick, run for the stairs!

In RoboCop, the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Overseas, their drones have been used by the military for years – and it’s meant billions for OmniCorp’s bottom line. Now OmniCorp wants to bring their controversial technology to the home front, and they see a golden opportunity to do it. When Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) – a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit – is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp sees their chance for a part-man, part-robot police officer. OmniCorp envisions a RoboCop in every city and even more billions for their shareholders, but they never counted on one thing: there is still a man inside the machine pursuing justice.

I honestly love that poster above. That’s the kind of creativity that I want to see from movies today, not another mess of teal and orange. The original poster for Robocop was also brilliant, as it showed Peter Weller in all his cybernetic glory. Anyway, I’m gushing too much. TV Spots time:

Robocop stars Joel Kinnaman, stars Abbie Cornish, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Jackie Earle Haley, Michael K. Williams, Jennifer Ehle, Jay Baruchel, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, and Samuel L. Jackson.

Wow, he’s kinda nimble for a robot… Well, we all made the mistake of thinking the Total Recall remake would be cool because of THAT action scene. Still, I do like the larger EDs…
