Guardians (3)

I think by now, we can all agree that Guardians of the Galaxy is at the top of the most wanted list, both in story and in real life. The movie looks slick, the characters look great and overall, it has that fun spark from the original Iron Man movie. Director James Gunn recently spoke more about the film, about alien races and how exactly he motion-captured a homicidal raccoon in his film.

Prepare for a new promo material onslaught.

Speaking on the Pointless Podcast, Gunn revealed that we won’t be seeing any Skrulls/Chitauri forces lurking around, following the ass-kicking that they were handed in the first Avengers movie:

Marvel only partially owns Skrulls, and also for the record, we don’t own the Badoon either. So people were asking why we have the Sakaaran in the film, we don’t own the Badoon.

In other words, damn you 20th Century Fox and your Fantastic Four rights! Moving on, Gunn also spoke about Rocket Raccoon. The little maniac is voiced by Bradley Cooper in the film, but for motion capture, that role went to Sean Gunn, brother of Gunn Prime:

My brother Sean Gunn wore a little green suit and he waddled around and he acted out Rocket. I think all of the guys will attest to the fact, and they have in all their interviews, that he was a great part of the team, and it really was Zoe, Dave, Chris, and Sean who sort of like created the energy that people will see in the movie between these four characters, who are usually at odds and sometimes find common ground. Sean was a big part of that energy and creating that, not only was a he doing a great job performing himself, but also gave the other actors something to work off of so they’re not working with a tennis ball.

And now for a treat! Want to hear Rocket actually speak? Well here you go. Also, here’s the poster for the film, included with all those intro videos. You’re welcome.

Maybe that is the plan… They have all these details in each movie to maintain continuity. They even did that with agents of shield!
