It seems like today is all about the unconventional love stories. Earlier, The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby showed us the differing views to be found in a relationship between a man and woman, and now along comes R-rated horror romantic comedy, Life After Beth to show us the differing views to be found in a relationship between a man and woman. A dead woman, that is.

Yes, this zom-rom-com, starring Dane DeHaan (Chronicle, The Amazing Spider-Man 2) and Aubrey Plaza (Parks & Rec, Safety Not Guaranteed, The To Do List), is the classic tale of boy meets girl, boy likes girl, boy and girl date, girl dies, girl comes back to life as the undead, boy tries to continue relationship anyway despite new found zombie powers and an insatiable craving to eat boy’s brains.

Dane DeHaan plays Zach, who is devastated by the unexpected death of his girlfriend, Beth. But when she miraculously comes back to life, Zach takes full advantage of the opportunity to share and experience all the things he regretted not doing with her before. However, the newly returned Beth isn’t quite how he remembered her and, before long, Zach’s whole world takes a turn for the worse.

Life After Beth also stars Molly Shannon, John C. Reilly, Paul Reiser and Anna Kendrick and is scheduled for VOD release on July 15, 2014, followed by a limited theatre release on August 15, 2014.
