Minor spoilers for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Kyle MacLachlan

Veteran actor Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks and mostly recently, Believe) has picked up a recurring role in the upcoming second season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. with a character currently only known as “The Doctor”, and no, there most certainly won’t be any blue phone boxes involved.

While it’s not been confirmed, rumour has it that his character will be the father of Skye (Chloe Bennet) whose blood-covered hand was briefly glimpsed during the finale of season one. Damn, so much for being a sleeper agent who needs to be awakened.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. kicks off its second season on 23 September and will follow Coulson and his team while they try to rebuild S.H.I.E.L.D. after the events in season one & Captain America The Winter Soldier.

During the recent San Diego Comic-Con the cast had a panel where they discussed the upcoming season. Check it out below!

What other veteran actors would you like to see in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.?

Lol, I meant for the Agents of Shield TV series 😛 And as far as I know, they have no plan on making the live action Thor a lady any time soon. Isn’t it an alternate universe?

I was also talking about the series 😛 Ya, it’s an alternate universe, not the next movie. I was just trying to think of the best way to upset the fanboys 🙂

Well changing nick fury to an African American seems to have gone fairly unnoticed. But people complained when Falcon took the reigns from Captain America.

The age old “How can you make a black guy Captain America argument”, but they seem to have forgotten this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isaiah_Bradley

But that is because he is Sue Storm’s brother and they are keeping her a white female O_o

With Nick and Cap there was at least a back story to why they changed. I still don’t know how they are going to pull this one off.

Robert Downy played an epic Tony Stark. In fact, you would say that he was born for that role.
